Patch 3 Key Changes

  • Fixed various Physics bugs particularly when coming back from the Takedown camera. This work is ongoing.

  • Reduce frustration from inconsistent and low speed Car collisions.

  • Make Battling more consistent.

  • Improve responsiveness of the handling and make the drift more consistent.

  • Fixed a various bugs with Game Stats and Achievements/Trophies.

  • Fixed a bug with 2 Live Mix icons that could not be collected and add new unlocks for those 2 collectibles.

  • New reward for the “Blown all Cobwebs” Trophy/Achievement – Display all unlocks on the Map.

  • Fixed a bug where the custom car engine audio will reset if you crash.

  • Various other Gameplay bugs.

  • Fixed most frequent causes of Game Crashes.

  • Multiple World fixes for issues reported by players.

Physics, Collisions and Battling

Fix Physics bugs particularly when coming back from the Takedown camera. This is part of ongoing work to detect and fix Physics issues.

Reduce frustration from inconsistent and low speed Car collisions – Under 60mph reduce the likelihood of crashing your vehicle at all in events. Work is ongoing to take this further and to make collisions more consistent between Freedrive and Events.

Made Battling more consistent by ensuring AI always react when slammed.

Handling

  • Fixed inconsistencies in starting a drift.

  • Fixed another speed up bug (in addition to the one fixed in previous patch)

  • Improve responsiveness of the following cars:

  • Solomon-Hirsch Headbanger

  • Solomon-Hirsch Motorhead

  • Dearborn & Schaeffer Gemini

  • Solomon-Hirsch Hellfire

  • Solomon-Hirsch Cyclone

For example, the Headbanger which is the first car in the game is now much more responsive to steering inputs, at all speeds. Total steering amount at high speed is slightly reduced, to encourage drifting rather than simply driving around any corner. Tyre friction has been reduced front and rear, to allow for slightly looser grip levels to reduce the “on rails” feeling. Suspension has been softened up to allow a small amount of extra body roll and weight transfer. Camera rotational lag has been tightened as well to make the car appear more urgent and less wallowy when changing directions.

Fixed cars that could spin out too easily:

  • Kurosawa Dragon

  • Delon Cigarello

  • Tasca Barchetta Maestrale

Improve overall handling of 2 cars:

  • Dearborn & Schaeffer Model D (improve steering at speed)

  • Hooper Wildcat HRT (suspension bottomed out and made car wobble when cornering hard)

  • Reduce the likelihood of cars flipping over when offroad.

 

Stats/Collectibles/Achievement Fixes

Fixed a bug with the reward cars not unlocking (for Billboards and Smash Gate Milestones) if they were collected as the client online. This will be retroactively awarded for players who have already completed the requirement.

Fix a bug with 2 Live Mix icons (Glen Ross Farms overpass and Smokey Tower) that were duplicates of others and therefore would not unlock. New Live Mix unlocks not previously available have been added for those 2 collectibles.

Fix a bug with the ‘My Colouring Book’ and ‘Road Runner’ Achievements/Trophies (Discover all Roads/All Dirt Roads) which were not counting correctly in events. Unfortunately, any missing roads may need to be rediscovered though it is likely these would be Ranch Road or Piper’s Trail. Note that the whole of every road and dirt road does not need to be driven to unlock this award.

Correct the Stats reporting of Wreckords to not combine Drift Combo and Drift Wreckords (this also solves confusion as to whether players had unlocked the Fellow Traveller Trophy/Achievement)

 

Correct the Stats reporting of Completed Events and Total Wins to exclude the Tutorial Race (as you can’t replay it if you don’t win it making it unfair for completionists) and include the Stunt Runner event 

 

Correct the text on the ‘We are the Champions’ Trophy/Achievement to reflect that it is awarded for all Road Races (so excluding Offroad Races and Sky Track Races)

 

Other Fixes

  • Total Road Rage on Dry Creek Road and Total Road Rage on Coastal Highway have been given more time but still remain in the Snow.

  • If you change your car engine audio, it will no longer reset when you crash.

  • Fix Bug to ensure the Online Coop Challenge “TFE Challenge #8 ‘Be in the Loop’” loads correctly.

  • Change collected Live Mix icon to a tick rather than being transparent.

  • Fix the Hunter Hauler Extreme not physically colliding with Smash Gates.

  • Fix bug where you could lose all UI if you hit ‘Retry’ as your vehicle was about to crash.

  • Fix various rock holes, missing sign text and road snapping issues.

 

Crashes

Crash when holding throttle when changing car.

Various crashes / instability if you launched an event through the map screen, then opened and closed the map during the event.

Random crash from a threading issue, more prevalent on Xbox.
