    • 7 new Live Mix unlocks providing 36 high rise buildings and stackable component parts.

    • Community requested fixes and enhancements including
      • Drift fix – Holding the brake while you drift will now reduce your car’s speed and help you drift around tighter corners

      • Event icons and the list of TFE Wreckreation Challenges are now visible to Clients online to aid discussion and interaction in picking events (this is for TFE authored events only, not player created ones)

New Update includes

  • Changes to the Maccoll County around Black Creek and Storey – bulldozed a mountain and started work on a town area
  • First look at snappable Live Mixable Buildings
  • 9 new Live Mix collectibles unlocking 32 new Live Mix objects including 22 Buildings variants, scaffolding, cranes and other construction materials
  • Added Video Settings on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 allowing players to choose between Quality or Performance mode. Quality mode runs at 30 FPS, targets consistent 4k resolution, reduces screen tearing and adds visual enhancements such as increasing the grass quality
  • Introduce ‘Share Codes’ on Player Created Challenges to enable easy sharing between friends, works cross platform
  • Add Rating option to Player Created Challenges
  • Game will now serve up Most Played/Highest Rated Challenges to Players, Community Challenge Filter also available on the Map
  • Changes to Parking Lots to show Recently unlocked and Most Driven spaces in every Parking Lot

    • Fix ping off glitch when stuck under a truck caused by physics engine aggressively de-penetrating two vehicles at 500mph 
    • Fix for a case where traffic could end up floating in the air 
    • Fix Bad spin from clipping the end of a barrier
  • Fix for frame rate collapsing due to detached hinged parts, which could occasionally happen if vehicle became severely damaged
  • Fix Game Crash when resetting during a Sky Track race at the same time as the fade to black occurs during the crash camera

After twelve years
of building and nurturing Three Fields Entertainment, I am forced into the situation of
today placing our entire team on notice of redundancy.

Since the launch of *Wreckreation*, our small studio has worked incredibly hard with
heart and dedication to update the game, listen to our community, and deliver the
fixes and features players asked for. I could not be prouder of the people I’ve worked
alongside or the passion they’ve poured into this project.

But the reality we now face is stark. As an independent studio, we will not see revenue
from game sales for the foreseeable future. We have had to selffund most of this year
and all of the post launch content. Without the enthusiasm or financial support from
our publisher to continue development, we simply cannot sustain the studio in its
current form. Making this decision has been unbelievably painful.

This is a heartbreaking moment for all of us. What makes it even harder is that we have
so many things in the pipeline multiple features, updates, and creative ideas that we
were excited to bring to the game, many of which are showcased in the video we’re
sharing today. These are things we genuinely believed would have continued to
strengthen Wreckreation and grow its community.

My hope is that by showing this work publicly, someone out there might also see that
potential and perhaps an opportunity could still emerge. But even if that hope does not
materialise, we want this to stand as a testament to our vision and to the strength,
passion, and skill of our tiny team. I truly believe in the potential of this game and in the
brilliance of the people who built it.

To everyone who has supported us, played our games, or believed in our studio: thank
you. Your support has meant the world – We will, again at our own cost, ensure the next
update that includes a Crossplay feature does get published before Christmas and we
hope you and your friends can enjoy the world that we have built together, whichever
platform you play on.

Players can visit any of the four County Police HQs or Sheriff Departments to discover a new drivable Cop Car at each location — each with its own unique Shutdown event. Look for the Police Badge icon on the Map.

By completing all four Shutdown events, players will unlock the following vehicles:

– Huntsville Nebraska

– Mitani Suprema

– Freiberg FMG W-Class (Track-based)

– Delon Mulsanne (Track-based)

Each unlocked car features its own Wreckoning event — complete it to earn the upgraded version of that vehicle.

Cop Cars can ram traffic out of the way and can also be used in any unlocked events that don’t have a specific Car Restriction.

 

Additional Content

The pack also introduces 8 new Live Mix unlockables unlocking 60 new Live Mix pieces, including:

– New narrow straights and curves connecting to the popular Spiral piece.

– 3 new moving Obstacles – the “Bootlegger”, the “Gate Crasher” and the “Slugger” – to add some extra danger to Challenges!

– Physical letters and numbers.

– Seasonal items for Christmas and Thanksgiving.

– A new extra small platform and target and additional props.

 

Technical Updates

– PlayStation 5 Pro: Native 4K at 60 FPS

– PlayStation DualSense: Custom colour feedback during gameplay

– Plus, numerous community-requested fixes and optimisations

 

Fixes include

Cop cars, Bruiser and Offroad Cars can punt cars from behind making them a more forgiving choice in races for less skilled players (note this is not ‘traffic checking’, there is a speed hit for doing it so it’s not a fastest time strategy!)

Race and Hyper Class Cars can no longer punt any cars in Freedrive. However all cars have a more forgiving collision system when travelling at low speeds or when glancing off the sides of obstacles.

There is now less chance of spinning out when shunting traffic.

Fix some cars crashing on the Super Loop.

Arlen’s Cove ‘Par’ Wreckord Time has been increased by 5 seconds.

Police Stations have new icons.

Dynamic Obstacles have been moved out of Sky Track menu (as they can be used anywhere not just in Sky Tracks) and into their own category. Also now easier to cycle between them.

Fixed Dynamic Obstacles not deforming the car.

Collision properly resets on Repair when driving through Gas Stations.

Added VFX Settings options on PC

  •       High – No changes
  •       Medium – Front wheels don’t produce smoke
  •       Low: Front wheels don’t produce smoke, Only player vehicle’s wheels produce smoke, Vehicle explosion effect no longer produces light

 

Fix for Crash in Profanity Filter which would happen when editing Challenge or Event instructions in the Map.

2 ramps on Bay Drive and 1 on Black Pine Bridge moved out of the racing line.

Culled some trees at Crystal Bay Speedway entrance that interfered with the racing line.

Extending the Checkpoint radius so they are consistent across all event types regardless of visual size of the Checkpoint.

Fix for visual collision on the Food trucks not matching the actual collision.

Improved Streaming to reduce chances of falling through the world due to unloaded tiles.

Fix for FOV being incorrect after crashes, especially noticeable on ultrawide monitors 

HUD changes to better support Steam Deck screen size.

Physics, Collisions and Battling

Fix Physics bugs particularly when coming back from the Takedown camera. This is part of ongoing work to detect and fix Physics issues.

Reduce frustration from inconsistent and low speed Car collisions – Under 60mph reduce the likelihood of crashing your vehicle at all in events. Work is ongoing to take this further and to make collisions more consistent between Freedrive and Events.

Made Battling more consistent by ensuring AI always react when slammed.

Handling

  • Fixed inconsistencies in starting a drift.

  • Fixed another speed up bug (in addition to the one fixed in previous patch)

  • Improve responsiveness of the following cars:

  • Solomon-Hirsch Headbanger

  • Solomon-Hirsch Motorhead

  • Dearborn & Schaeffer Gemini

  • Solomon-Hirsch Hellfire

  • Solomon-Hirsch Cyclone

For example, the Headbanger which is the first car in the game is now much more responsive to steering inputs, at all speeds. Total steering amount at high speed is slightly reduced, to encourage drifting rather than simply driving around any corner. Tyre friction has been reduced front and rear, to allow for slightly looser grip levels to reduce the “on rails” feeling. Suspension has been softened up to allow a small amount of extra body roll and weight transfer. Camera rotational lag has been tightened as well to make the car appear more urgent and less wallowy when changing directions.

Fixed cars that could spin out too easily:

  • Kurosawa Dragon

  • Delon Cigarello

  • Tasca Barchetta Maestrale

Improve overall handling of 2 cars:

  • Dearborn & Schaeffer Model D (improve steering at speed)

  • Hooper Wildcat HRT (suspension bottomed out and made car wobble when cornering hard)

  • Reduce the likelihood of cars flipping over when offroad.

 

Stats/Collectibles/Achievement Fixes

Fixed a bug with the reward cars not unlocking (for Billboards and Smash Gate Milestones) if they were collected as the client online. This will be retroactively awarded for players who have already completed the requirement.

Fix a bug with 2 Live Mix icons (Glen Ross Farms overpass and Smokey Tower) that were duplicates of others and therefore would not unlock. New Live Mix unlocks not previously available have been added for those 2 collectibles.

Fix a bug with the ‘My Colouring Book’ and ‘Road Runner’ Achievements/Trophies (Discover all Roads/All Dirt Roads) which were not counting correctly in events. Unfortunately, any missing roads may need to be rediscovered though it is likely these would be Ranch Road or Piper’s Trail. Note that the whole of every road and dirt road does not need to be driven to unlock this award.

Correct the Stats reporting of Wreckords to not combine Drift Combo and Drift Wreckords (this also solves confusion as to whether players had unlocked the Fellow Traveller Trophy/Achievement)

 

Correct the Stats reporting of Completed Events and Total Wins to exclude the Tutorial Race (as you can’t replay it if you don’t win it making it unfair for completionists) and include the Stunt Runner event 

 

Correct the text on the ‘We are the Champions’ Trophy/Achievement to reflect that it is awarded for all Road Races (so excluding Offroad Races and Sky Track Races)

 

Other Fixes

  • Total Road Rage on Dry Creek Road and Total Road Rage on Coastal Highway have been given more time but still remain in the Snow.

  • If you change your car engine audio, it will no longer reset when you crash.

  • Fix Bug to ensure the Online Coop Challenge “TFE Challenge #8 ‘Be in the Loop’” loads correctly.

  • Change collected Live Mix icon to a tick rather than being transparent.

  • Fix the Hunter Hauler Extreme not physically colliding with Smash Gates.

  • Fix bug where you could lose all UI if you hit ‘Retry’ as your vehicle was about to crash.

  • Fix various rock holes, missing sign text and road snapping issues.

 

Crashes

Crash when holding throttle when changing car.

Various crashes / instability if you launched an event through the map screen, then opened and closed the map during the event.

Random crash from a threading issue, more prevalent on Xbox.
